Charges of culpable homicide and other offenses have been filed against the arrested individuals. Similar charges have also been filed against the building management, municipal employees responsible for drainage maintenance, and others. The coaching center has been sealed.

LG Requests Report Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena expressed grief over the incident and directed the municipal commissioner to submit a detailed report by Tuesday. The LG stated that such issues cannot be ignored and emphasized the need to investigate the role of coaching institutes and property owners in ensuring basic student safety.

Delhi Government Orders Inquiry Delhi Minister Atishi has ordered a magistrate inquiry into the incident. One of the deceased students, Tanya, was identified as being from Aurangabad, Bihar. Her father is an engineer in Telangana.

Who Are the Other Students? The identities of the other two deceased students were revealed as Shreya Yadav from Ambedkar Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, and Nevin Dalvin from Ernakulam, Kerala. All three were staying in different PG accommodations in Rajendra Nagar. The bodies of the two female students were handed over to their families after the post-mortem on Sunday. Nevin’s family has not yet arrived in Delhi.

Special Commissioner of Law and Order, Ravindra Singh Yadav, reported that the FSL team collected evidence from the coaching center and sent it to the lab for analysis. The preliminary post-mortem report confirmed that all three died from drowning.

35 Students in the Basement On Saturday evening, heavy rainfall caused water to accumulate up to about five feet on the streets. At that time, around 35 students were studying in the basement of the coaching center. Around 7 p.m., the pressure from large vehicles making U-turns on the street broke the glass door on the basement stairs, causing the basement to flood within minutes.

Information Given to Police After Situation Worsened Students began to evacuate quickly. A short circuit also caused a power outage. Two female students and one male student were trapped inside and drowned. The coaching center operators initially attempted to manage the situation themselves and only alerted the police and firefighters when conditions worsened.

Arrested the Night of the Incident Upon reaching the scene, the police detained the coaching center owner Abhishek Gupta, residing in Sector-48, Gurgaon, and coordinator Deshpal Singh, residing in Vasundhara, Ghaziabad, on Saturday night. Both were arrested on Sunday.

Protests Against Municipal Corporation and Police Enraged by the deaths of their peers, students gathered in large numbers in front of Rao IAS Study Circle in Old Rajendra Nagar on Sunday to protest. They chanted slogans against the government, police, and municipal corporation. In response to the students’ anger, a large contingent of paramilitary and police forces was deployed, and all ACPs and inspectors from the northern range’s districts were summoned to the scene.
