ANI, Washington: As the US presidential election approaches, the atmosphere is becoming increasingly intense. The verbal exchange between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump continues. Kamala Harris has responded to Trump’s statement about her race, stating that Americans deserve better.

She stressed that the country is at a crossroads between two different visions, accusing Trump and his campaign of aiming to take the nation backward. Harris made these remarks during an address at a fundraiser in Houston, following Trump’s comments.

‘Is She Indian or Black?’ Trump, at an annual conference for Black journalists, questioned whether Kamala Harris is Black, noting that she initially identified as Indian and now identifies as Black.

In her response, Harris said, “As we work to move our country forward, there are people trying to take us back. You’ve seen their agenda, they call it Project 2025, a 900-page plan full of extremism.”

While discussing Project 2025, Harris claimed it would increase taxes on the middle class, cut taxes for billionaires, and dismantle the Department of Education.

‘Deserving of a Truthful Leader’ The Vice President continued her criticism of Trump, saying, “We’re not going back. We all remember those four years, and today we have another reminder. I just want to say, Americans deserve better.”

She added, “Americans deserve a leader who speaks the truth, who doesn’t respond with hostility and anger when faced with facts. We deserve a leader who understands that differences don’t divide us; they are an essential source of our strength.”
